CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A ridge of high pressure is bringing temperatures more typical in April to much of the Eastern U.S. today.
Over 40 cities across the country could hit record highs today, including Asheville, which could tie or break the old record of 70° that hasn't been topped since 1898!
The abnormally high temperatures are the result of a strong ridge of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere.
The record high was already set this morning in Traverse City, MI, with temperature that will continue to climb through the afternoon hours.
The Queen City will warm to near 70° after dense fog lifts out late this morning.
