A blast of cold weather is bearing down on the Valley.
With temperatures below freezing, many of us are scrambling to stay warm.
Capt. Ken Hall with the Mesa Fire department pointed out the following mistakes many people make trying to stay warm.
Put space heaters too close to curtains or sheets
Use the oven or stove top to heat up the house
Have propane tanks in the house
Firefighters suggest residents do not leave space heaters on overnight. While they are on, keep them on the floor, not on a table where they could fall.
