Marchers take to uptown Charlotte to protest abortion

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A Charlotte-based Christian advocacy group marched through uptown Charlotte during lunchtime Friday protesting legal abortions.

The march was the seventh time the majority Catholic group marched through uptown.

About a hundred marchers wandered through uptown, stopping at Trade and Tryon Streets for a prayer, as well as at the U.S. Court House, praying for the unborn, according to the group's website.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers kept on eye on the march with officers following along on bicycles, foot and car.

Traffic was only temporarily delayed as officers stopped vehicle traffic so marchers could cross streets.
