IREDELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

Two people were airlifted from the scene of a head-on accident in Iredell County Thursday, but only one was involved in the wreck, according to Iredell Rescue officials.

The accident happened on Mocksville Highway around 4 p.m.

Erskin Morrison, of Statesville, was driving a pick-up truck when he crossed the center line and hit a sedan being driven by Barbara Wilson, of Cleveland County, officials said.

Morrison was trapped in the vehicle following the collision, and had to be extricated using the Jaws of Life. He was airlifted to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

Wilson was taken to Davis Hospital in Statesville.

Both Morrison and Wilson are expected to recover, officials said.

Then, as workers were still on scene, another person pulled up and told officers they were having a cardiac emergency, officials said.

The person was evaluated, and it was determined that a second helicopter was needed due to indications that they were possibly having a heart attack.

Morrison was charged with driving left of the center line.
