Sheriff: Juvenile accidentally shot while hunting


A juvenile in Alexander County was flown to Carolinas Medical Center after a being shot in a hunting accident, according to the Alexander County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened on Daniels Lumber Road near Taylorsville just after 5 p.m.

The boy, who officials say is 13 or 14 years old, was dove hunting with a friend. The victim crossed the path of the other teen who was shooting and was hit with bird shot, deputies said. 

He was flown to CMC in Charlotte with very serious injuries, but is expected to recover, officials told WBTV.
