A Utah man says he noticed cuts on the hands of an Arizona woman the day after she allegedly killed her boyfriend in 2008.
Ryan Burns is an ex-boyfriend of 32-year-old Jodi Arias, who could face the death penalty if convicted.
Burns was called to the witness stand by prosecutors Wednesday.
He testified that he met Arias at his home outside Salt Lake City on June 5, 2008, and asked about the hand cuts. Burns says Arias told him she had broken a glass while working at a bar.
Prosecutors claim Arias shot 30-year-old Travis Alexander in the face, stabbed him 27 times, slit his throat, then left him in a shower in his Mesa home after he tried to end their relationship.
Arias claims the killing was in self-defense.
