CALDWELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

A Hudson man is facing charges after investigators brought in SWAT officers to arrest him for selling oxycodone from his home.

According to Caldwell County Sheriff Alan Jones, 44-year-old Benny Dale Laney was arrested at his Enlos Place apartment on Thursday.

Sheriff Jones says the arrest came after a three-month long investigation into Laney.

"The case originated with numerous complaints of suspicious drug activity involving Laney," Sheriff Jones told WBTV. "Ice Unit agents managed to infiltrate and utilize a confidential informant who made several buys of illegal prescription pills from Laney while at his residence."

Sheriff Jones says law enforcement officials have a past with Laney, so they brought in SWAT officers to assist in the arrest.

During the operation, a total of 58 illegal oxycodone pills, a 2000 Lexus car, and drug paraphernalia were seized by the agents.

The pills have a street value of $1,545.00 according to North Carolina State guidelines.

Ice Unit agents also found evidence and believe that Laney was traveling out of state along with others to obtain prescriptions for high powered narcotic pills.

Agents believe Laney was using his 2000 Lexus and rental cars to facilitate these illegal runs.  Ice Unit agents are continuing the investigation and expect more arrests in the future.

Laney was jailed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond.  He has a first appearance in District Court in Lenoir on January 7, 2013.
