Police are searching for a man who grabbed cash out of a register at a Walgreens pharmacy and ran off.
Officers say the man was caught on surveillance video as he walked into the store on Potter Road in Stallings around ten Wednesday morning. As a clerk was opening a cash register, police say the man grabbed some money and headed out the door.
He was last seen running towards Whetstone Drive, police say.
Police describe the suspect as a middle aged white man, standing 5'9'' to 6' tall. He has a gray and black beard, was wearing a tan hat, dark gray hoodie, blue and white plaid pants and had black slip-on shoes.

A CVS pharmacy was robbed less than five miles away from the Walgreens early Thursday morning. Police in Matthews say a man got into a struggle with a clerk, made off with some cash and then drove away from the store on Highway 51. The man crashed following a short chase but managed to run away from police. He is still at large. Authorities have not said if this incident and the one at the Walgreens are connected.
