Police in Lenoir are asking for the public's help in locating a man they say hit a pedestrian on Sunday.
On December 30, 2012 at 6:43 p.m. the Lenoir Police Department received a call regarding a hit and run with a pedestrian struck on Spainhour Street, in Lenoir, according to a news release from the Lenoir Police Department.
Upon arrival officers found a white male lying on the roadway, the apparent victim of a traffic crash. Further investigation revealed that Miguel Cruz Cepeda, 37, who was operating a black 2006 Honda Ridgeline, struck the victim who was standing in the roadway.
After striking the victim, Cepeda fled the scene of the crash. The victim was transported to Caldwell Memorial Hospital where he was admitted for injuries related to the crash.
The Lenoir Police Department is seeking assistance in locating Cepeda. Anyone with any information pertaining to the crime or Cepeda's whereabouts is asked to call the Lenoir Police Department at 828-757-2100 or Caldwell County Crimestoppers at 828-758-8300.
