Welcome new 2013 babies!

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Charlotte's first baby of 2013 was born at Presbyterian Hospital overnight.

Silas Coady Young was born at 12:10 a.m. He weighs in at seven pounds, four ounces. His parents couldn't be more thrilled.

"It feels great. I am so happy. It's one of the best things that's every happened to me," said new father Andrew Young.

Silas was born four days late, his mother says she tried every old wives tale in the book to speed up the process.

"I ate an entire pineapple the day before it happened," said Ada Young. "We tried every spicy food known to man!" she joked.

The Youngs were surrounded by family Tuesday afternoon, including first-time grandparents ready to hold their new grandson.

All agree, Silas will be special on his own, but his birthday is an added bonus.

Silas edged out another New Year's Baby for the title at Carolinas Medical Center.  Leadro Schulz was born at 12:23 am. He and his mother, Liliana, share the same birthday.

At CMC-Northeast, mom Jamie Brown and dad Ryan Price of Salisbury welcomed baby girl Aubrey Price at 5:04 a.m. Aubrey weighed 7 pounds and 15 ounces.

Megan and David Williams from Lake Wylie welcomed baby boy Jaxson at CMC-Pineville at 5:53 a.m. Jaxson weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces.

Congratulations!
