Lanes on Queens Road West are expected to be reopened by 5 p.m. as utility crews worked to replace a broken water main.
Charlotte utility officials say an eight-inch pipe burst around seven Friday morning on Queens Road West, close to where the road intersects with East Boulevard. All lanes were shut down for more than an hour as crews started repairs.
A spokesperson for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department says it could take several days before repairs are complete and all lanes are reopened.
