Reaction to fiance's death: "We are all at a loss for words"

Hello. It's Christine Nelson writing to you on this Friday (yeah!) December 28. Here is a quick read on the stories we're getting you caught up on this morning. We're on from 4:30-7:00 a.m.

We talk with a man who says he is at a total loss for words after learning about his soon-to-be wife's death in a DWI crash. Jennifer Hunt and her mother were killed in the accident near Independence Boulevard Wednesday in Charlotte. He bravely talks to us about how the suspect's alleged actions have not only changed his life but the life of the victim's children.

Also, it's been one year since Hope Melton innocently went to a convenience store for gas, was followed and then killed. For the first time we're hearing from her sister and her story of forgiveness in this senseless tragedy.

Plus, around this time yesterday the mountains and surrounding counties were about to get hit with some tough weather. We have video of what residents woke up to and it was quite a mess.

Speaking of weather, it's another cold start! If you need to know how much to layer up, make sure to tune in to our forecasts every 10 minutes!

See you on the air!

Christine
