An accident involving a Charlotte Fire truck is causing traffic problems for some travelers in southwest Charlotte.
The accident happened just before 5 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of West Boulevard and South Tryon Street. WBTV's Sky3 was over the scene as crews directed traffic around the accident.
It appears that the fire truck collided with an SUV, although officials have not released a possible cause of the wreck.
One person was injured in the accident and taken to an area hospital. No firefighters were injured, officials said.
Motorists should avoid the area if at all possible. South Boulevard can be used as an alternate route around the scene.
