Officials in Lincoln County say a sewage spill reported Thursday was caused by a lightning strike at a pump station.
The spill happened near the 4400 block of Burton Lane, which is near the Lakewood Subdivision, County officials said.
Approximately 5,000 gallons of untreated sewage flowed into an unnamed cove as a result of the spill. The Health Department was notified and has issued a no swim advisory for the area until further notice.
