Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a man they say cut off his electronic monitoring device after being released from jail.
Jamarius Sherrill, 20, is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team on outstanding warrants for two counts of larceny of auto, two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle, felony conspiracy, and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.
On September 3, Sherrill was released from jail on a $25,000 secure bond, and was ordered to wear a CMPD electronic monitor as an additional condition of his release. He cut off his electronic monitor and was last seen at the transit center on Trade Street, police said.
Sherrill is described as a black male, 5'8", weighing 180 pounds.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Sherrill should immediately contact the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) at (704)336-VACT, or call 911.
