Magazine names Fort Mill best place in SC to raise children

FORT MILL, SC (WBTV) -

Bloomberg Businessweek announced the results of its exclusive survey to identify the magazine's annual list of great small towns to raise kids. Included on this year's list is the Town of Fort Mill, South Carolina, as the best place to raise children in the state.

The magazine looked at public school performance, safety, median income, housing costs, commute time and diversity when making their choices.

In response to today's announcement, Fort Mill Mayor Danny Funderburk said, "This accolade just confirms what citizens of the town have known all along- that Fort Mill is a great place to live and raise a family."

Fort Mill School District Superintendent, Dr. Chuck Epps, added, "Fort Mill School district is proud to be able to provide a high quality public education to the citizens of Fort Mill. On behalf of the school board and staff we couldn't be more pleased to have contributed to this honor."

The results of the comprehensive survey appear on Businessweek's website here.
