The Rock Hill Police Department says that a suspicious item located near a local school was a harmless prop accidentally left there, and posed no threat.
Police were called to Nation Ford High School on A O Jones Boulevard just after 11:30 a.m. to check out the item, which was in an area adjacent to the parking lot, the report states.
Police said the item had characteristics similar to a possible explosive device, and the Rock Hill Bomb Squad was called to assist.
After investigation, police determined that the Carolina Drum and Bugle Corp had been at the location the previous weekend and unintentionally left a harmless prop behind, police said.
