Trio arrested in string of Lancaster larcenies

Three people were arrested after a joint investigation into a string of larcenies and burglaries in Lancaster, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.

The joint investigation between the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office and Lancaster City Police Department resulted in the arrest of Joel Brandon Scott, 31, Joshua Matthew Thurman, 27, and Amber Leigh Airington, 20, for their connection with the string of crimes, deputies said.

The investigation revealed that the trio broke into numerous vehicles and homes in the Lancaster area between November 27 and December 9. During the incidents the group stole televisions, firearms, cash, cell phones, jewelry, and other personal property from the homes and businesses, the report states. 

The car break-ins occurred on Boxcar Rd., Wrenwood Dr., Standing Timber Rd., Omni Ct., and Havenwood Dr.  The home burglaries occurred on Monroe Hwy, West Rebound Rd., Country Club Dr., JB Denton Rd., and Pacer Dr.

Deputies say the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are expected. Lancaster City PD has also charged the trio with various offenses that occurred within their jurisdiction. At this point, the suspects have been charged as follows by the Sheriff's Office:

Joel Brandon Scott- Currently Incarcerated at the Lancaster County Detention Center- Bond Denied.  Vehicle/Damaging or tampering (6 counts), Larceny/Breaking into a motor vehicle (1 count), Burglary 1st Degree (3 counts), and Burglary 2nd Degree (2 counts). 

Joshua Matthew Thurman- Currently Incarcerated at the Lancaster County Detention Center- Bond Denied.  Vehicle/Damaging or tampering (6 counts), Larceny/Breaking into a motor vehicle (1 count), Burglary 1st Degree (3 counts), and Burglary 2nd Degree (2 counts). 

Amber Airington- Released on $35,000 Surety bond- 12/18/2012. Larceny/Breaking into a motor vehicle (1 count), Burglary 1st Degree (2 counts), and Burglary 2nd Degree (2 counts). 

This investigation also led to the service of a search warrant on Friday morning at a residence on Loft Ln. where some of the stolen property was recovered.  Investigators also located a quantity of crack cocaine at the residence, and subsequently charged Robert Antonio Hood, 34, with trafficking crack cocaine.

Hood is currently being held at the Lancaster County Detention where his bond has been denied.

Sheriff Faile said, "This group of people has been causing major problems over the last few weeks.  I appreciate the hard work that all of the investigators from both the City and the County put in to get them identified and charged. Job well done."
