CMPD: Woman hit guard with car twice after bar fight

A woman was arrested after hitting a security guard with her vehicle twice following a fight at a local club, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

On Thursday, December 13, just after 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of NC Music Factory Boulevard in reference to several calls for a security guard that was assaulted with a vehicle, and a disturbance and robbery in the Club Label parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers located a disturbance between several subjects. A woman told the officers her purse was taken during the altercation by a suspect who was now inside a nearby vehicle, which she and a security guard pointed out in the parking lot.

Officers then talked to the driver, Jamie Thomas, 26. Thomas then attempted to leave the scene, and struck the security guard with her vehicle for the second time. Police then ordered her to get out of the vehicle, but she refused, the report states.

Officers then broke the driver-side window, and opened the door as another woman inside the vehicle, Shassity Stevenson, 28, began pulling Thomas back inside, away from the officers. During the struggle, Thomas sustained an injury to her face and was transported to CMC-Main to be examined by hospital staff.

She was released and then transported to police headquarters.

Thomas was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon (by vehicle), driving while impaired, and resist, obstruct and delay.

Shassity Stevenson was charged with resist, obstruct and delay for preventing Thomas from being taken into custody. Sascha Smith, 22, refused to get out of Thomas' vehicle after being ordered by officers and was subsequently charged with resist, obstruct and delay. Morgan Williams, 22, was charged with common law robbery for taking the victim's purse. All subjects were taken to the Mecklenburg Sheriff's Office.

Another disturbance then occurred in the parking lot, and two males were arrested for interfering with the investigation. Michael Bernard Noel, 31, was charged with communication threats, disorderly conduct and resist, obstruct and delay, and Vanny Phillip McNeil, 32, was charged with resist, obstruct and delay, for their involvement in the disturbance.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and say additional charges are pending.
