BREAKING: Intense search locally for missing 7-year-old

It's Wednesday, December 12. This is Christine Nelson with your first look at the stories breaking from overnight. There is a lot to go over. So join us from 4:30-7:00 a.m. and get caught up on the news of the day.

BREAKING: A 7-year-old from Burke County has been reported missing and there is an intense search for the young boy happening at this hour. His name is Logan West. When his family fell asleep watching TV last night they woke up and he was gone. Cam Man Ron Lee is already getting information from the search scene. He already has this little boy's picture in hopes someone recognizes him. Our live reports will have the latest details.

Another missing persons case is bringing the community of Mint Hill together. Kayla Campbell's whereabouts are still unknown. Police told WBTV no more searches are planned today, but why? We'll answer that question.

VIDEO ALERT: We're getting a description of what the scene was like inside the Portland, Oregon mall, the site of a deadly shooting rampage. Our editors are putting the video together now. We also have details on what this shooter was wearing that's eerily similar to other mass shootings that have made headlines.

LIVE: Are you a hunter? There's an app for that! Technology is really changing the game for hunters, especially by making sure no laws are being broken. WBTV's Astrid Martinez has all the details.

Need to know how much to layer up this morning to stay warm? Meteorologist Al Conklin is on your side with the most reliable weather forecasts every 10 minutes. Tonya Rivens is watching the commute minute-by-minute. She'll let you know about problem spots too!

See you on the air!
