ICARD, NC (WBTV) -
A search for a missing 7-year-old boy continued for over six hours, until Deputies found him hiding under a mound of clothes.
Burke County Sheriff's Deputies were called out after a boy went missing from his great-grandmother's house late Tuesday night off of Icard Church of God Road.
Relatives said they were watching television, and fell asleep. When they woke up around 11:30 p.m., Logan West was gone.
The boy wasn't wearing shoes or socks at the time, and the cold weather had rescue crews worried.
Over fifty officers were called out to search the area, which lasted over six hours.
The house where the family lives was also searched five times, but nothing at the time was found.
Rescue helicopters as well as police dogs were on their way to help try and locate the child, when the word came down to the command center at First Baptist Icard Church: little Logan was found safe and sound.
Search crews amazingly found him inside the house.
The Sheriff's Office said the home had stacks of clothes and debris several feet high all over the room.
The missing boy, officials said, had dug a tunnel through the clothes pile, and fell asleep under a table.
