A 72-year-old Lincolnton man was charged Monday by Lincoln County Sheriff's Office investigators with the alleged sexual assault of a female under the age of 13 years old.
Rex Randolph Beaver, 72, Lincolnton was charged with one felony count each of First Degree Sexual Offense (Victim Under 13) and Indecent Liberties with a Child, according to a news release from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
The incidents occurred on November 1, 2012 and December 8, 2012 and were reported to authorities on Sunday night. Beaver was questioned Monday and confessed to the crimes.
Beaver was placed in the Haven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond.
He was scheduled a first appearance in Lincoln County District Court Tuesday.
