Helping children battling cancer is as easy as going online

Kaleigh Guillate is so full of life.

"I almost broke my neck when I did a hand stand," said Kaleigh.

Her mother Isiman Homesley describes Kaleigh as a daredevil.

And she loves music too!

"This is a Christmas tree, this is the lights. I want to thank Jesus, Jesus Christ, " sang Kaleigh.

She is like every other 4 -ear-old kid playing, laughing and running around except for one thing.

"They did the bone and marrow aspiration and that's when we found out that she had leukemia," said Homesley.

That was back in June of 2011.

Since then Kaleigh visits Levine Children's Hospital every two weeks to receive treatment.

The unexpected diagnosis took a financial toll on the family.

"It was rough trying to make sure that we had what we need," said Homesley.

With the holidays fast approaching, spreading cheer to kids like Kaleigh is as easy as clicking a button.

"Basically you can go online and see the needs of your local community hospital," said Kirstin Ashford with Carolinas HealthCare Foundation.

The online catalog at give miracles dot org makes it possible for you to purchase critically needed medical care and equipment for children.

"Helping to fund programs enables us to grow them and provide the very best care for our patients," added Ashford.

It's a platform to give these families hope.

"To make sure that there is a cure one day for all children and all people with cancer and blood disorders," said Homesley.

"That's just what I really want."

And a chance for Kaleigh to have many more happy holidays.

Once donors choose their gift from the catalog they will receive updates on exactly how their gift is being used
