Luis Enrique Garcia who is being called by officers as one of the largest drug distributors in Watauga County is behind bars tonight.
Early this morning in Boone, NC law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at Garcia's residence. The seizure produced close to a pound of Crystal Methamphetamine with a street value of $57,120.
The investigation which lasted 5 years involved the Watauga County Sheriff's office, Boone Police Department as well as outside agencies. Those included the Department of Homeland Security and the State Bureau of Investigation.
Sheriff Len Hagaman Jr. said ,"I am very confident that there will be more arrests and successful prosecutions as these local, State and Federal agencies move forward with this investigation."
