Charlotte man charged with trafficking cocaine


A Charlotte man was arrested Monday after deputies say he was trafficking cocaine.

Charles Thomas Jackson, 48, of Charlotte, is charged with trafficking cocaine, according to a news release from the Iredell County Sheriff's Office.

Iredell Detectives received information that Jackson was selling cocaine in Charlotte and Iredell County area from a tip. 

Upon further investigation, detectives were able to reach out to CMPD detectives and both agencies began working on the information.

During a take-down operation conducted off Wilkinson Boulevard in Charlotte consisting of Iredell County Task Force officers and CMPD detectives, Jackson was taken into custody without incident. 

Jackson was found to be in possession of approximately 42 grams of cocaine having a value in excess of $10,000, according to the release.

Detectives were able to conduct a search at Jackson's residence where they located a large amount of approximately $10,000 in U.S. Currency hidden in the residence along with other evidence.

Jackson is being held in Mecklenburg County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.  The investigation continuing and further arrest are pending.
