A Lincoln County man has been charged with failure to notify a change of address by a sex offender.
During routine sex offender address verification, Detective Don Mauldin discovered that registered sex offender Matthew Jason Cooke, 24, was not living at 649 Amity Church Road, Iron Station.
The suspect had relocated to the 2500 block of Long Neck Drive, Iron Station and failed to notify the Sheriff's Office within three business days as required by North Carolina law.
Cooke was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center and released on a $9,500 secured bond.
