According to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police release, officers were patrolling along 115 East Carson Street around 2:34 a.m. Thursday morning when they heard gunshots being fired from the parking lot of the Midnight Diner.

"Upon officers' arrival they observed a suspicious male standing up from behind a vehicle and walk towards the diner," the release stated. "The male matched a suspect description that officers were given as they arrived on scene."
