A 62-year-old woman lost control of her car and slammed into two people walking near a Phoenix bus stop early Wednesday morning.
Both pedestrians were hurt, but expected to survive, according to Sgt. Trent Crump of the Phoenix Police Department.
Crump said the woman was traveling south on 35th Avenue and appeared to have suffered a medical condition. She crossed into the northbound lanes near Alice Avenue, struck a power pole and then the two pedestrians before her car came to rest after knocking over the canopy of the bus stop, Crump said.
The driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for medical reasons after the crash happened about 6:30 a.m.
No citations were issued, Crump said.
