Police in Statesville arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a child.
Investigators received a report about a sexual assault on a child Monday. Police say the child involved is younger than ten years old.
During the investigation, three warrants were obtained for a suspect.
Officers found thirty-year-old Antonio Lopez Hernandez standing in a yard in the 400 block of Hill Street.
Hernandez was taken into custody without incident. He is charged with two counts 1st Degree Sex Offense, and one count Indecent Liberties with a Child.
Hernandez is being held in the Iredell County Jail under a $300,000 secured bond.
