The North Carolina Highway Patrol says a damaged truck carrying glue shut down the left lane of Interstate 40 eastbound for 12 hours.
Troopers say the truck carrying glue overturned around 2:30 a.m. at exit 100, Jamestown Road. All lanes of I-40 East were closed for a brief time. Currently, all lanes are open.
Troopers originally expected the truck to be removed around 6 a.m. but they tell WBTV First Alert Traffic reporter Tonya Rivens all of the glue needed to be removed from the truck first.
Tonya advises drivers using I-40 East to exit I-40 at Exit 100, and follow signs to US-70. Take 70 to US-64 Bypass East back to I-40 Eastbound at Exit 103.
