House fire causes $50,000 in damage

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
Firefighters from Crowder's Mountain Fire & Rescue, Bessemer City Fire Department, and Agriculture Center Volunteer Fire Department battled a structure fire, Saturday afternoon in Gaston County, North Carolina.

At 12:46pm on Saturday December 1st, 2012, all three departments received a dispatch of a reported structure on fire at 207 N. 13th Street in Bessemer City, North Carolina.

Crews arrived on the scene, and witnessed a two story residential structure with smoke and flames visible from the rear of the dwelling.

Firefighters battled the fire that was present on both floors and in the attic of the home, for 30 minutes until it was extinguished.

A total of 25 personnel were on the scene, along with 6 fire apparatus.

The 100 year old structure was vacant at the time of the blaze, and sustained approximately $50,000 in damages.

No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Gaston County Fire Investigations Task Force.
