Quibids is offering free shipping of all items bought or won on the website from Nov. 15 to Nov. 30.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) November 27, 2012
Quibids is now running a free shipping promo for any auctions won up until November 30, 2012. This promos will cover any items won or bought using the “Buy Now” option during this time frame. A similar promo was run on the third birthday of the internet business last month.
This free shipping will enable users of the website to obtain items at unprecedented low costs. Since the auction site doesn’t follow the same bidding format as many other penny auctions, members are already benefiting by being able to purchase high ticket items at incredibly discounted prices. Often the cost of shipping is more than the actual amount spent on winning the item.
The way the bidding format works is that members are allowed to purchase single bids for 60 cents each. They can use these to bid on the items up for auction. Unlike regular bidding sites like eBay, the winner of the auction is not the one who bids the highest, but the one who bids last.
All items are presented with a timer that counts down in sequence. Bidding can start when this timer reaches five minutes. After that, each bid will add 1 cent to the cost of the item and 10 – 20 seconds to the timer. Because of this, bidding can go on for quite some time if the item is one of the more popular ones on the website. However, people who don’t mind sticking around or who use the automatic bid option can often get items like HDTVs and laptops for less than one third of the retail price.
Smaller items may cost a person only a bid or two to get if they bid at the right time and there have even been those who have won big ticket items with only one bid just by lucky bidding time. So, if for example someone were to bid on an item that no one had previously bid on and they somehow won the item, with the free shipping in place right now, that person could get the item for 61 cents total (60 cents for the bid and 1 cent added to the “ending price” of the item).
Quibids is famous for these ridiculous discounts. However, bidding can be a bit tricky for new users as they may be so used to the “highest bidder wins” format. Because of this, it is important that new members read all the guidelines on the website as well as a Quibids review or two so that they will have an idea of how to win.
Though some people view Quibids as a waste of time, the point of the website is not only about winning great discounts, but about entertainment as well. Since the bids are cheap and the bidding is quick, it can be quite exciting to bid on the items. However, unlike other websites where if you lose you lose, on Quibids if you have bid on an item but were unable to win it, you can always choose the “Buy Now” option and purchase the item at the regular retail price minus the total value of the bids you have placed on it.
