CMPD: Teens arrested for attempted burglary

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Two teens were arrested in for their involvement in an attempted burglary at a local home, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Antonis Bernard Screthen, 18, and Zachary Deyshaun Spann, 17, were arrested after officers were dispatched to a home for a possible breaking and entering, the official report states.

The call came in around 12:30 a.m. at a home in the 800 block of Queen Charlotte's Court. The homeowner called 911 to report seeing two people trying to get into his home through a rear window, police said.

Once officers arrived they saw two people matching the homeowner's descriptions running from behind the home down the street. Officers established a perimeter, and caught and detained the duo on Water Oak Road.

A witness was taken to the scene and positively identified the teens as the individuals involved in the attempted burglary.

Both Screthen and Spann were charged with attempted first degree burglary and resisting a public officer.
