A man was shot and killed in East Charlotte, on the 7500 block of Shady Lane, Saturday night, and police are still looking for the suspect.
Hickory Grove Division patrol officers responded to a call about an assault with a weapon at 8:19 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 and found 38-year-old Willie Byars Jr. with a gunshot wound.
Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation. They have not named a suspect but say they are looking for someone.
