A man accused of robbing marijuana smugglers after they sneaked into the United States will be sentenced in federal court on Dec. 17 for a conspiracy conviction.
Authorities say Rito Osorio-Arellanes was part of a ring that preyed on smugglers.
Five other members of the alleged rip-off crew were accused of murder in the December 2010 shooting death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.
Rito Osorio-Arellanes was in custody before the shooting and doesn't face murder charges in Terry's death.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery.
One of the five people charged in Terry's death has pleaded guilty to a murder charge
Of the four others charged in Terry's death, one is in custody, while three others remain fugitives.
