GRANITE QUARRY, NC (WBTV) -
Police in Granite Quarry are asking for public's help in locating a man wanted for an armed robbery Sunday evening.
The incident was reported around 8:15 p.m. at the Dollar General Store on Granite Lane, according to a news release from the Granite Quarry-Faith Joint Police Authority.
The Rowan County Sheriff's Office assisted with several units and a K-9 officer. Officers were able to track the suspect from the store to the end of Granite Lane where it appeared he had an unknown type vehicle waiting. The suspect left the scene with an undetermined amount of money.
The suspect in this case is described as a white male in his mid to late forties wearing a white ball cap with an unknown logo, a black pull-over jacket, black shirt, black gloves, light blue jeans and white tennis shoes. The suspect had what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband which he displayed to the clerk. The witness also reported that the suspect had some type of blue make-up on his face.
