CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - It's the familiar ringing of the bell outside retail shops and grocery stores all across our area.
The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign has begun and the need is great.
Salvation Army spokespeople tell WBTV, during this homeless awareness month, that the organization has around 400 residents. That's up almost 100 from last year.
That's a strain on the organization's resources but it is possible to help.
Shelley Henderson, with the Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte, visited WBTV News Saturday Morning to talk about the need and to share just a couple of easy ways you can make a monetary donation to assist the Salvation Army in meeting its goals.
