Police in Charlotte are investigating a double shooting in center city Charlotte that left one man dead and one man injured.
The call came into the 911 dispatch center around 11:47 p.m. Thursday night, reporting that two people were shot along the 1100 block of Fontana Avenue.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police raced to the scene and say they found the two victims. Medics transported the unidentified men. The first to Carolinas Medical Center, but 47-year-old Michael Crawley died a short time later.
The second victim was taken to Presbyterian Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition from his injuries. The shooter fled the shooting scene, but a van was located a short time later in a grassy area of an apartment complex about a block away.
The CMPD helicopter and canine units were called in the track the suspect.
Cedric Mobley, 20, Justin Dixon, 21, and Phillip Henderson, 20, were all arrested and charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.
Officers sealed of the crime scene while investigators collected evidence and took photographs.
