ORANGEBURG, SC (AP) - A 2-year-old Orangeburg girl is safe after being taken away when her mother's car was repossessed.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported the 28-year-old mother told police she left the child inside her car when she went inside her home Tuesday afternoon.
The unidentified mother says her daughter was asleep in the front seat of the car parked outside her home.
The women told police that when she came outside, both the vehicle and child were gone. She called her husband, who told her he'd taken a loan out against the car, but the vehicle was repossessed.
Police say they took the father and child home.
The incident is under investigation.
