CALDWELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -
For about 4 hours Monday evening search crews in Caldwell County were looking for two hikers who got themselves lost.
The two hikers went in to the woods Monday looking for signs of deer before a heavy fog and some rain moved into the area and the pair got turned around, sources told WBTV.
They alerted authorities that they were lost in an area near Nightingale and Knob Roads, off of Blowing Rock Boulevard.
The hikers were located shortly before 10 p.m. Rescue crews expected the hike out of the woods to last for another 30 minutes.
One of the hikers is suffering from a mild case of hypothermia and will be treated. The other one was not injured.
