New charity takes clothing donations for delivery

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -- As temperatures dip lower, more and more people are trying to stay warm. Now, several Charlotte entrepreneurs are helping people who want to donate warm clothing get the items to the agencies who can use them most.

The group calls itself, "Warm Charlotte."

"Historically people have had to bring goods to a specific location. What we're trying to do is go to the people, show up at different locations and give them a convenient option where they can bring items as we prepare for the winter months," said organizer Trent Corbin.

Next Sunday, November 18th, Warm Charlotte volunteers will be at StoneCrest at Piper Glen to accept donations. The following Sunday they'll be at Cotswold Village shops.

Their first week they delivered about items to Florence Crittenton Services. The agency helps pregnant women, mothers and babies in need.
