The dateline is a little misleading, because today's story actually comes from 3 towns in 2 states.
The journey started off in Van Wyck, SC.
From there it went to Lancaster, SC.
I ended the day in Cherryville, NC.
In each town I asked as many people as would talk - just exactly how you pronounce the town name.
All of these places are known for their pronounced pronunciation problems.
