FBI, CMPD search for bank robber


The FBI-Charlotte Division and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank in the Sedgefield neighborhood Tuesday morning.

The robbery happened at about 11:14 a.m.

Investigators said the man walked into the Wells Fargo at 2910 South Boulevard and handed the teller a note.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid 20s to 30s. He was wearing khaki pants, a dark brown jacket, and a black ball cap. Investigators said there appeared to be a sticker on the bill of the cap. Investigators also said the suspect had acne scars on his face, was wearing glasses, and was described as having an unpleasant odor.

The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.  

Investigators said he did not show a weapon during the robbery. No one was hurt.
