Three men were arrested on drug charges after a month-long investigation into drug trafficking, according to the Union County Sheriff's Office.
The arrest came early Friday evening at a Waxhaw home on South Providence Road where deputies made numerous undercover purchases of cocaine and ecstasy during the investigation.
During the arrest, officers seized over $3,000 in cash, a stolen .357 revolver, and in excess of 700 pills of ecstasy, along with cocaine, marijuana, and drug manufacturing paraphernalia, officials told WBTV.
Two suspects, Lewis Patrick Alexander, 42, and Frederick Demond Neal, 49, who live at the home were arrested on drug charges. A third suspect, Roderick Lavades Brown, 34, of Charlotte, was arrested when identified as a fugitive from justice, wanted on federal indictments for drug conspiracy, the report states.
Alexander was charged with six counts of trafficking in MDA/MDMA (ecstasy), two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, felony maintain dwelling to store/sell controlled substances, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed under a $450,000 secured bond, with a December 4, court date.
Neal was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He has a $10,000 secured bond, and also has a December 4, court date.
Brown was arrested on the charge of fugitive from justice. He was held without bond, and has since been transferred to federal authorities, deputies said.
