CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
A person is fighting for their life after being hit by an SUV in East Charlotte.
Charlotte Police say the victim was hit just before seven o'clock Sunday night on the 5500 block of Albemarle Road. They say the driver then turned around, passed the person, and drove off towards Central Avenue.
Investigators describe the SUV as red or burgundy, possibly a box-style Jeep Cherokee. It has front-end damage and was leaking fluid when it left the scene. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
