Early voting ends in North Carolina


More than 2 million voters across North Carolina hit polling places in North Carolina before Election Day.Saturday was the last day to cast early ballots early in person.

Long lines stretched outside of the Hal Marshall Center on College Street in Uptown Charlotte.

Early voting started October 18th and the polls have been open every day since then.

According to policymic.com "about 2.3 million people have votes in North Carolina's early voting; close to 35% of registered voters. Of those, 48 percent were Democrats and 32 percent were Republicans. These numbers are down from 2008 early voting numbers."

Across the country, nearly 27 million Americans voted early in 34 states including Washington, D.C.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 6.
