New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

More than one million New Jersey customers are still without power...and many of them may not have service restored until Wednesday.

Fuel shortages are also a serious problem and there have been long lines at gas stations.

Despite all this, Governor Chris Christie says Election Day will go on as planned.

Some people will be allowed to vote through email and fax.

The storm is blamed for 23 deaths there.

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is scheduled to visit the state Sunday.
