Check your clocks, this weekend is the end of Daylight Saving Time

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Remember that precious hour of sleep you "lost" in the spring? It's time to get it back.

That's right. This weekend is "fall back", or more technically, the end of Daylight Saving Time.

Most of the country will turn back the clocks one hour for the annual shift back to standard time. Officially, it happens at 2 a.m. Sunday local time, but most people just change the clocks before they go to bed Saturday night.

Public Safety Officials say whenever you change your clocks – whether losing or gaining an hour – it's a good time to check and/or replace the battery in your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors. Many local fire departments will come out and check your alarms for you – all you have to do is call and ask.
