Dallas, NC(WBTV) – North Gaston may be out of the playoffs, but Russell Threatt still considers his three years with the Wildcats a big success.
Threatt has been playing football his entire life, but he's unlike anybody else on the team. He is hearing impaired and uses interpreter Tonia Quick to communicate during practice.
This year he played defensive end and defensive tackle, and played it well.
Head coach, Mike Patton, said Threatt's hearing impairment doesn't hold him back, he adapts well to anything and works hard.
The Senior Wildcat described football as his life and he can't imagine not playing, and it looks like he won't have to. He's received interest from Galluadet University in Washington, D.C. and hopes to start next fall.
