CONCORD, NC (WBTV) -
City of Concord Electric Systems is joining forces to assist First Energy Corporation with power restoration efforts in areas that were hit with heavy snow and wind in the face of Hurricane Sandy. Hundreds of thousands remained without power in the aftermath of the superstorm.
A crew supervisor, coordinator, and six line technicians, will leave Concord later on this afternoon to meet up with other crews from Kings Mountain, Dallas, and Shelby and head to West Virginia. The crew will take two bucket utility repair trucks, one four wheel drive line truck stocked with tools and power restoration equipment, and one service truck.
First Energy Corporation is comprised of 10 electric utility operating companies. Their service territory comprises of the states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, and New York. They have about 6 million customers.
The crew will remain in West Virginia as long as needed.
